Apatos®

Apatos®

Microcrystalline hydroxyapatite

The product

Apatos® is a biocompatible and osteoconductive¹ collagenic xenograft with characteristics similar to mineralised human bone².

The natural microporous consistency of Apatos® facilitates the formation of new bone tissue in the bone defect area³, accelerating the physiological process. Apatos® Cortical is characterised by a long resorption time⁴, contributing to the preservation of the grafted volume.

Apatos® is a dry cortico-cancellous collagenic bone mix.

Apatos® can be mixed with the patient's blood and can be used to preserve the volume of bony lesions and treat two-wall defects and molar or premolar extraction sockets.

Why choosing Apatos?

Because of its capacity to maintain the volume⁵⁻⁶ and its medium-sized granulometry, Apatos® is the proper ally for dentists' daily practice.

Hence, Apatos® has been used as a valid alternative to autologous bone to regenerate and preserve the volume of bony lesions, treat two-wall defects⁷ and molar or premolar extraction sockets³. When needed, Apatos® can be protected with Evolution membranes⁸ or stabilised with Lamina®.

How to handle Apatos®

Apatos® must always be hydrated and thoroughly mixed with a few drops of sterile saline; it can also be mixed with the patient’s blood. The mixture thus obtained should be positioned with a sterile spatula or syringe for biomaterials.
